An Enhanced Corporate Facility |

In the summer of 2005 the Knox County Airport began a transformation from a small, general aviation airport into a new, enhanced Corporate Airport to accommodate the increasing demand from Knox and surrounding county businesses. In an era of on demand transportation, Knox County has begun the process that will evolve our airport into a hub for corporate air traffic. Listed below are just some of the many upgrades that will occur over the next two construction seasons:
• Lengthening Runway to 5500 feet
• Widening Runway to 100 feet
• Removing current obstructions
• Increasing weight bearing capacity to 75000 Ibs. dual wheel
• Relocating and extending taxiways to accommodate larger aircraft
• Upgrading approaches to RNAV/GPSwith vertical guidance
• New aircraft hangers
